The most fun people are those we love by accident. Those who are bizarre yet infectious. They paint joy into places in our life we didn’t know existed, pulling us along into the real fairytales of our lives. These figures make us more. Every word uttered another step closer to becoming someone we never thought we could be, which is so much better than being what you always wanted. 

Authors are the same. They hold our hands and bring you into their worlds. Once there, you can see the whole universe. All its ugliness and silliness. Colours that don’t exist and pains we know all too well. After being shoved out of their heads at the end ensues a struggle to reenter yours. You cannot simply return after being exposed to something so fresh, you have to rebuild with the new tools you have been given. You are forced to become something new, for better or worse.

Here at Unlicensed Publishing House, we think this is the greatest gift that literature gives us. It’s the unorthodox voices that inspire us to become something uniquely grand. They help us transform with grace by using their imagination, it’s fucking cool. We want to find these people, wherever they hide on the globe (aliens also welcome!), and make them available to you.

Reading doesn’t have to be such a serious act. It can be profound but also a simple joyride. Our platform aspires to encompass everything on the spectrum, never to marry a single genre or way of thinking.
